Can I change the template for my iPad app?

I've started building an iPad app, and I wonder if I can change the template or if I need to start over in order to use a different template?

  each template is unique enough that we can't transfer it's content/pages to a new template.

  sorry, you have to start over again if you want to change template

  How do you start over? If you have paid for your app there is no option to remove it....or overwrite it.
