.p12 file will not save
I am unable to create a .p12 file. I have followed all steps in the tutorial so please do not refer me to that. I have done this process over 100 times step x step on 3 computers and read a million pages and it is not seeming to work. In keychain access I go to keys, select private for my name, control click, request export key, then save as certificates on my desk top, select file format .p12, then, save, then it requests the password, I put in the password, verify password, click OK,then a new box populates and has my name, it requests a password, so i put in password that i just created, does not work- just re directs- then i use the password for my device( mac book)- redirect and then i try my developers license password and all it does is reroute me to the screen that says enter a password which can be used to protect export items, so i create another password and verify... and the pass word never works and i never get the p12 file saved to my desk top so that i can up load it or even install it. why can i be doing wrong? this is beyond maddening.
i hope someone can help me. i have brand new computer- lion.
thanks
deb

i don't understand how your computer password related problem (probably related to privileges of the user) is relevant to iBuildApp's platform?
uploading p12 certificate works just fine.
if you can't save it it either you generated incorrect one, use old app loader version or missed a step.
in our FAQ page for app publishing I didn't notice any words about passwords and it sounds you enter password every time you need to do something.
Deb, what do you want me to do?
please explain! -
Deb, it does ask for a password when trying to create the p12. This is NOT "your computer password related problem", it is to allow you to protect your personal information that is inside the file.
.
This is an optional step, you can leave it blank if you want, but if you do enter a password, you will always have to use it. This is normal, and you are doing nothing wrong.
.
The file you need to save as the p12 is the DISTRIBUTION CERTIFICATE. You said you were trying to save keys??????? That could be part of what's going wrong for you.
.
Instead of control clicking the certificate, try going to the menu on the top left of your screen and click file>export item (or something like that) and do it that way. Make sure the file you have highlighted is the distribution certificate (not the keys). That should allow you to save the certificate as a p12
Hope this helps -
i can publish your app for you !
