    jai,
    did you do these steps?
    -------
Before you can get your certificate ( .p12 file) you have to generate a Certificate Signing Request, download your certificate and install it on your local machine (F.A.Q. How can I generate a Certificate Signing Request, download your certificate and install it on your local machine?)
    -------------

also every time you publish your app you need a new distr certificate.

yes, I have. Under the distribution certificate page it says "you may only have one active distribution certificate" I do have that one active certificate for 3 different provisioning profiles. When I try to upload that certificate to your site to create a .p12 file, it says "Error: cannot repack file to p12 format." Sorry I'm new to this and I'm absolutely clueless on what I should do.

Jai, you wrote above that you have registered certificate for 3 different provisioning profiles.
you can't use the existing downloaded from apple certificate since it must match the private and public key - Certificate Codesigning Request (CSR).
Since the CSR was generated in different places, then it doesn't match and when you are trying to generate p12 you are getting error.

    you need:
    - to export the existing certificate from Mac computer in p12 format per instructions: http://ibuildapp.com/faq-iphone/#24
    - OR revoke the existing certificate on apple site and go through all the steps per Option - "I don't know how to create a Certificate, Private Key and Provisioning file, or I don't have a Mac computer на странице publishing" when publishing app.

Alex, I agree!  It wasn't until I was practically done with the app I was going to use for personal reasons that I realized I couldn't do anything with it unless I paid Apple $99!!!    There has got to be something we can do to publish the app to "ourselves".  Even if I did put it on the App Store it would have been for free.  Seems to me that Apple stifles the development "community" by making you pay $99 so you can develop apps for THEIR product.  No problem with an Android phone though...

We are not supporting .p12 files anymore. Please, delete all the certificates from your MAC and revoke them from your Apple Dev account. It is only confusing you.
Please, refer to the Publish page of your app on our site - Apple iTunes Store
At the Create Certificate tab DOWNLOAD.csr file (don't use csr file created on your MAC, use only file downloaded from our site), upload it on your Apple Dev account to create new Distribution certificate (Certificates tab – Producation). Then please download new certificate on your MAC and upload it on our site at the Upload Distribution Certificate tab.
Don’t forget to create App ID for your app at the Identifiers tab – App IDs. When you are creating App ID for your app at the Apple Developer account, please, fill not only the App ID name, but also "Explicit App ID"-->"Bundle ID:" which should be represented like a reverse-domain name style string (i.e., com.domainname.appname).
Last step is to recreate Provision Profile (.mobileprovision file) on your Apple Dev account (Provisioning profiles tab – Distribution) and upload this file at the Upload Provisioning Profile tab on our site. Then just follow the further steps to build your app.

    Hi,

I have completed all steps as instructed above.  Have revoked and deleted all certificates, cleared out my key chain of all but the newest keys.  Started from scratch and I am still getting this error message:

Error. Cannot repack Distribution Certificate to p12 format.

    Aaaarrrrrggggghhhhh!!!!

Is there any possibility that an old certificate is being stored on iBuildApp upload area.

I am soooo frustrated with this and have wasted so much time and energy, jumping through loops.  Can anyone please help before I have a blooming heart attack???
