Simple app that makes button change color when pressed

I'd like to make and app that has just one screen.  On the screen would be 16 or 20 icons that when pressed would either change color or get x'ed out.  It's just to keep track of items as they are completed.  This seems really simple, but I havent found a way with iBuild to do it yet.  Any help?  Thanks!!
