My IPhone got stuck on Web App

I was on my web app then went to come out of it but when i pressed the home button on my IPhone nothing happened. I tried for about ten minutes different ways of getting out of the app including: Double pressing home button, locking phone, turning phone off. None of these worked. They didn't even do anything. eventually the only way for me to get out the app was to crash my phone by holding both the lock and home button. Is there anyway to solve this problem?
