my facebook page won't load on my app

where it asks me to add my facebook page name in the app for it to develop that page, it keeps coming up with a red box and won't accept my fb page name.

  Before attempting to add your facebook page, have you converted the page you're adding into the page format on facebook?

  i.e. facebook.com/ibuildapp as opposed to https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=000000
