Images no longer sharp in published app
Hi, when I published my photography iPad app, London Eleven, in the app store last month, all the images, were sharp. But now the images, which are pulled in from a Picasa RSS feed, are much blurry. I haven't changed the photos on Picasa and they are still sharp when you view them on the web. I assume iBuildApp is now compressing them in some way. Have you changed the way you handle images and can you please change it back! many thanks David

Hi, I know you have all been busy with a server migration, but I would really appreciate any information you can give me on this issue. I don't want to promote my app (London Eleven) with the image quality as it is - the app only works if the images are sharp and you can zoom in. When the app went live in November, the images were great. But now they are fuzzy. Are you going to be able to resolve this problem? thanks David

David, iBuildApp doesn't optimize any images that are stored on other servers like Picasa or Flick, etc. We've checked your app on iPad device - all images look good - no blurred ones. In you case, that might be caused by slow internet connection: once an image is loaded from the server it is initially blurry and then become sharp - it's all the matter of internet connection quality.
Thank you. -
Many thanks for checking. But the connection speed isn't the issue - I have tested the app on very fast connections. When I first published the app to the App Store all the images came through at the same resolution as they are on Picasa - about 2055 by 1536 pixels. Now they come through at about half that resolution, maybe even less. The impact is very clear in the embedded captions - the text is now blurry on most of the photos. And if you zoom in on the photos, they become very fuzzy. Something has changed in the past couple of weeks.......
